Saludos CPM Familias,

Dear CPM Families,
The state of California released the California School Dashboard, which is the new accountability system for all California schools. This dashboard contains data on schools throughout the state to provide parents and community members access to a more comprehensive picture of the performance of our schools. This new framework is based on three principles.
- The use of Multiple Measures instead of just one measure
- A Focus on Equity for all student groups
- Supporting Local Decision Making above state control
You can read more about those foundational principles here and here.

Please see an analysis below by our Principal Mrs. Gina Galvez-Mallari:
In 2016-2017 Castle Park Middle continued to have the highest daily attendance in the district. We have reduced the number of suspensions for the third year running and we also saw a significant increase in our students’ performance on the SBAC English Language Arts test with a six percent increase in students meeting or exceeding performance expectations.
Two areas of focus for Castle Park Middle are a need to improve our students’ SBAC scores in Math and to continue to decrease our suspension rates.
